2018 marks the 90th Anniversary of the Washington Park Zoo. One of the keystones of the year of celebration is a collaboration with the Michigan City Area Schools, spearheaded by the MCHS Art Department, the Zoological Society and Artspace. This includes an art exhibit including works created by animals at the zoo, MCHS students, MCHS faculty, Artspace Residents and invited guests. The event kicks-off on Friday, March 2—with the First Friday Art Walk at 5pm and and culminates on April 28th with “Zoobilee” held at Artspace starting at 6pm.
There will be family friendly activities throughout the two-month celebration. The zoo opens for the season on April 1st. All events at Artspace are free. A suggested donation for the Zoobilee event is requested and will raise money to support the fine Washington Park Zoo, educational programs, record breaking attendance and continue to promote the amazing treasure we have right here in Michigan City.
Act now to secure your reservation to this historic event and please be as generous as possible as all the proceeds will benefit our zoo, our residents and our Community.
